This is a series of 14 illustrations for Hannah Jewell’s anthology, She Caused a Riot: 100 Unknown Women Who Built Cities, Sparked Revolutions, and Massively Crushed It.
The goal of this project was to create a cohesive series of illustrations that reflected the biographies of the remarkable women featured in Jewell’s book.
Linocut is my favorite art medium and I wanted to challenge myself by translating these women’s unique stories into this art form by creating initial line drawings and then transferring them onto linoleum blocks for printing.
